Today, Mints Farms and Ranch is a cow-calf operation on 4,000 acres across several counties.
livestock and wildlife
Since the beginning, it's been about cattle and that remains true today. Just like our grandparents before us, raising beef cattle is what we do. And hunting is a beautiful byproduct of having this land.
All we do, all we grow is focused on our cow operation. Wheat, alfalfa hay, oats, mung beans, hay grazer—all our crops either are eaten directly by cattle in the field, dried and bailed, or planted to put back into the soil necessary nutrients to keep the cycle going another year.
A perk for our newest venture, guided hunts, is that wildlife enjoy many of the same crops as cows. We intentionally cultivate crops that attract deer and other wildlife while feeding our cattle through the winter.
